Academic Award Scheme 2009

Every little improvement is a result of efforts and hardworking. Acknowledgement is a positive and effective way to keep the hard work. The CHF Academic Award Scheme is to credit the effort made by heart disease children.
If your child shows any improvement or is always outstanding on their studies, please nominate them to join this scheme as an appreciation of their efforts from time to time.
Awards

Academic Improvement Award : recognizes every effort improvement of children made towards their study
Academic Excellent Award : recognizes the outstanding achievement of their study.

*Every awarded student will be presented with the certificate of CHF 2009 Academic Award Scheme

Targets
  • Applicants should be Hong Kong permanent residents;
  • Full time Primary 1 to Form 7 students are eligible;
  • They must be members of the Children's Heart Foundation;
  • They must suffer from congenital heart disease.
Remark: Student can join either the "Academic Improvement Award" or the "Academic Excellent Award".




Share the 15th years

Following the relocation of Department of Pediatric Cardiology to Queen Mary Hospital, the CHF had moved from Grantham Hospital in the early 2009.

Grantham Hospital is such a special place that closely connected to our memories and experience.

You are cardinally invited to share your special and united feelings about or every any unforgettable memories with Grantham Hospital. We will edit them as a part of the 15th Anniversary booklet of CHF.

The CHF has around 1,200 members at present. To make sure there are close connections between CHF and all members , we would like to bring our membership data base up to date. Please help. So, if you are:

1. A core member for many years, or
2. A new member ,or
3. You would like to join

Please fill in the membership application/renewal form, then send it back to the CHF by POST/FAX/EMAIL. Once the renewal process is completed, the data base will be updated. We encourage you to help by sending us back the membership application/renewal form so that we can communicate with you better.

Annual General Meeting 2007/2008z

Date: 2008/7/20 (Monday)

The CHF’s Annual General Meeting 2007/2008 was held at the Novotel Century Hong Kong Hotel on 23 August 2008. More than 100 members joined and voted on different issues and also elected the Executive Committee. CHF Children Choir Certificates, Academic Excellent Awards and Academic Improvement Awards were also presented.

NuSkin Sport Day – Give the pony a hug

Love of Little Cook

Each child had baked the cookies and cakes with the help of volunteers and gave these as gifts to other children at the Grantham hospital.

Special thanks to the volunteer of the Goldman Sachs for their support.




Sharing Summer Camp 08

Date: 2008/7/5 - 2008/7/6

This is a camping trip designed for families – activities include group games, adventures in the wilderness, and athletics competitions. Parents had shared their feeling in the sharing group.




Puppet Musical and Workshop with the Kids (27.04.08)

Date: 2008/4/27(Sunday)

Fifteen families enjoyed the puppet musical “My Secret Friend” co-presented by YAF and the professional puppet group “Make Friends With Puppets”. After the show, they joined a puppet art workshop and learned how to make a puppet.




Children’s Art Workshop

Date: 2008/4/12 - 2008/5/31(Every Sunday)

Around 30 children had a wonderful time learning how to make arts and crafts.




CHF Children's Choir – 1st phase

Date: 2008/4/8 - 2008/5/31(Every Sunday)

The first phase of the children’s choir was started in April. This year we welcomed Gloria Tang as our new conductress. Gloria is not only a very talented piano player, but also a composer-cum-singer. 27 children joined the choir [and we have divided the children into junior and senior classes.




CASH Children Festival

Date: 2008/4/4 (Friday)

CASH hosted a fun-filled variety programme for children from the Children's Heart Foundation, Ronald McDonald House and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals at the Jockey Club Tin Shui Wai Integrated Services Centre. The fun-filled programmes included a children's drama by the Jumbo Kids Theatre, magic tricks by Harry Wong and children's songs performance by The Pancakes. The children also had the chance to take part in a drum circle percussion session. Everybody had a great time.




New Year Day Tour

Date: 2008/3/30 (Sunday)

A New Year day trip saw 160 members visit the Hong Ning Cow Farm and the Yuen Long Strawberry Farm. It was a great chance for families to get together and enjoy the wonderful spring weather. They also enjoyed a lunch buffet at the Panda Hotel.




Happy Easter Ending

Rotary Club volunteers and our CHF children spent a wonderful time at the Chinese University searching for Easter eggs.




Volunteer Lunch Gathering

A thank you lunch at the Stanford Hillview Hotel was attended by CHF volunteers. We thank all of our volunteers and friends who participated in our activities throughout 2007. Your generous support is essential to the development of our foundation.




Visit the Elderly
